  • Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 20th @ 2.  We will be making gingerbread houses.  We will need lots of volunteers for this activity.  A letter will go home next week asking for donations to the project.

This week we will read Ada Twist Scientist. We will identify story elements such as characters, setting, character development and author’s purpose. We will use the book to make predictions and inferences. Students will continue to identify character traits that support a growth mind set and perseverance. We will read the companion book Rosie Revere Engineer and Iggy Peck, Architect later in the week.

We will be focusing on zooming in on moments and adding more detail.  Ask your child to explain a watermelon vs. a seed idea.

We will continue to discuss family traditions. We will read Some Birthday and discuss birthday traditions . In science we will make a table fiddle and book fiddle and learn more about how vibrations create sound. We will make a drop chamber and practice identifying sounds of various objects.
