This week we will read Hey Little Ant.  We will discuss the author’s purpose for writing the story, the story lesson and character emotions.  We will continue to add counting poems to our poetry notebook.

The students will continue to write 3-page narrative pieces focusing on stretching out unknown words, work spacing and punctuation.  We will also form partnerships to edit our work.  Please remind your child to practice spacing, proper letter formation and punctuation at home.

In math we will continue to learn about addition and subtraction strategies.  We will play Roll and Total, also reviewing Turn Around Facts.  Students will continue to compare various ways to show a number and work with Ten Frames.

In Science we will continue our study of plants.  We will be focusing on growing plants in different settings and starting roots from cuttings. In Social Science we will discuss family wants and needs.

Have a great week!
